The Mayas were a highly advanced people. They were superb mathematicians and astronomers who devised one of the most accurate calendars known to man, far more accurate than the modern Gregorian calendar. The Mayan Calendar was calculated by extremely accurate observations of the Sun, the Planets, the Stars, and the Milky Way Galaxy. The Mayas were aware of the "Precession of the Equinoxes" which is necessary to create an accurate calendar. Their magnificent pyramids are perfectly aligned to the sun. For example, the Pyramid at Chichenitza is built in such a way that during the spring and fall equinoxes, the setting sun casts a shadow of a serpent, referred to as Kukulcan or Quetzalcoatl, which descends the northern steps of the Pyramid. This spectacular effect could only be achieved by using extremely precise architectural and astronomical measurements.

Mayan astronomers attached great meaning to the birth and death of stars at the galactic center referred to by them as INLA KEX (Hunab Ku). The Mayas approached prophecy by deeply studying the periodicity of cycles, especially astronomical ones, and their synchronicity with human events on earth. They were deeply spiritual and very aware of the role that human consciousness has in connection with nature. Incredibly, they knew, over a thousand years ago, that on this 12/21/2012 there would be an astronomical alignment of our sun and the center of the Milky Way.

The Maya's astronomical knowledge appears to have come from an even older civilization. At Teotihuacan, near Mexico City, the Pyramid of the Sun is perfectly aligned with the star cluster known as the Pleiades. The Egyptians also considered this same Pleiades alignment in the building of their Pyramids at Giza. There also seems to be a direct correlation between the ancient religious beliefs of the Sumerians, the Egyptians, and the Mayas, especially as they relate it to the creation of the universe, the human race, and of the future.

At sunrise, on December 21, 2012 (Winter Solstice), for the first time in 26,000 years, the Sun will conjunct with the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. There will be a precise alignment of our Sun with the Galactic center INLA KEX (Hunab Ku). This cosmic cross is thought to be the symbolic embodiment of the Sacred Tree, the same Tree of Life referred to in many of the world's spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel of cosmic energy that will flow through the earth, cleansing the planet, along with all the living things that dwell upon it. The vibratory frequency rate of the planet will increase which will also influence a new awakening of consciousness on the planet and the knowledge of our role in the Cosmos. Furthermore, at the famous Mayan pyramid site in the Yucatan known as Chichenitza, an amazing phenomenon will occur. As the Sun sets in the early afternoon, the shadow of the pyramid's northwest edge will project a moving pattern of light that joins and illuminates the sculpted serpent head at the base of the stairway. Within a thirty-four minute period, the serpent, formed by this play of light and shadow will appear to descend to the earth, as the sun leaves each stair, traversing from the top to the bottom. This combined effect will create the visual appearance of the body of a serpent descending the pyramid. The tail of the serpent will project upward from the top of the pyramid and will be pointing precisely to the star cluster Pleiades.

Despite fundamental Christian attitudes which consider anything to do with snakes or serpents as a representation of something evil or of the devil, the symbol of the serpent has long been thought of within various religious traditions as a symbol of healing. For example, the Egyptian Priests headdress had the head of a serpent cresting out of the forehead. This was in reference to the opening of the third eye or the mind’s eye. This symbolized the Priests initiation into spiritual consciousness and the spiritual ability of Insight and Intuition. The very symbol, still used today within modern western medicine, is a very ancient symbol known as the Caduceus. The symbol depicts two serpents intertwined around a staff (which symbolizes the spinal column) and is then connected at the top of the staff with wings symbolizing spiritual enlightenment. Kundalini Yoga also refers to the “serpent-like” creative sexual energy force that cycles upward from the base of the spine and through the various pathways of the spinal column and nervous system integrating the seven sacred chakras of creative consciousness, symbolized by each chakra or wheel.

Tibetan Monks, using an ancient visualization practice known as remote-viewing, have recently predicted that from now until 2012 the world super powers will continue to engage in regional wars. Terrorism and covert war will be the main problem. In world politics, something will happen around 2010. At that time, the various world powers will threaten to destroy each other. Between 2010 and 2012, the whole world will be polarized and prepare for the ultimate Dooms Day. Heavy political maneuvers and negotiations will take place with little progress. In 2012, they predict that the world will start plunging into a total destructive nuclear war.

However, at that time something remarkable will happen according to the Buddhist Monks. Supernatural divine powers will intervene. The destiny of the world will not self-destruct at this time. Extra Terrestrial powers are watching us every step of the way. They will intervene in 2012 and save the world from self-destruction.

When asked about recent UFO sightings in India and China, the monks smiled and said the divine powers have been watching us all along. Humankind will not be allowed to destroy the earth and to alter the future to this great of an extent. The Monks also mentioned that beyond 2012 our current civilization will come to understand that the final frontiers of science and technology will be further enhanced through deeper understanding of spirituality and not material physics and chemistry. The discovery of subtle energies and sub-atomic forces within the scientific field known as Quantum Physics is already demonstrating this. Beyond 2012, our technologies will take on a different direction. People will begin to understand the essence of spirituality, the relationship between the body and the soul, and the fact that the universal creative life force intimately connects all of us. A shift in human consciousness and change in our worldview will occur.

We have already entered into the New Age of Information (Aquarian Age) with the use of computers connecting our planets communication to the Worldwide Web. We are able to instantaneously connect and communicate across the globe. With this rapid increase in information transmission, it is important for us to use the gift of this new tool with wisdom and benevolent vision. This is an exciting and pivotal time we are living in. With the breakthrough and awakening of higher consciousness, our personal responsibility and caring toward each other is required. The purpose of our life is not endless consumerism and narcissism. The development of tolerance, forgiveness, love, and change is the passport to our freedom by right use of free will. We are “the good shepherds” of Mother Earth and all the living beings and life forms evolving on the planet.
